Orchestra Director Mrs. Sonja Hammad is an accomplished string specialist, having received a Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance from St. Olaf College in Minnesota and a Bachelor of Music degree in Education from Iowa State University. 2007 marks the beginning of her 12th year of teaching in public schools. Mrs. Hammad began her teaching career in the Midwest at Fairmont High School in Minnesota and Waverly Shell Rock High School in Iowa, before moving to California in 2001. In addition to her music degrees, she has had extensive training in Suzuki pedagogy. Mrs. Hammad has maintained a private studio for the last thirteen years and is in her 3rd year of teaching at Dana Hills High School's SOCSA Academy.
