SOCSA presents The Mark Wood Experience "Inferno Tour !"

SOCSA is proud to present The Inferno Tour concert, starring music students from Dana Hills High School, Marco Forster Middle School and Niguel Hills Middle school, and featuring Emmy-Winning Composer and original member of Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Mark Wood, and his band, The Mark Wood Experience!
Mark Wood was a member of Trans-Siberian Orchestra for 13 years and has also worked with Celine Dion, Billy Joel, Lenny Kravitz (among others), and is an Emmy award-winning composer.  He is joined by his band, “ The Mark Wood Experience,” whose members have worked with Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Celine Dion, Billy Joel, Lenny Kravitz, James Brown, Aretha Franklin, and more.

Through his Electrify Your Strings! workshops,  Mark has dramatically impacted school music programs across the nation, inspiring students and teachers to fully and fearlessly express their creativity though their instruments.  His newest program, The Mark Wood Experience, reaches beyond the string orchestra to embrace winds, percussion, and vocal music.  Electrify Your Strings!  and The Mark Wood Experience have been featured in Time, USA Today, the New York Times, andon CBS News and PBS.  This is the first Mark Wood event to be held in the state of California!

This exciting event includes not only to SOCSA students, but also instrumentalists and singers from Niguel Hills and Marco Forster middle schools—over 300 middle and high school students will have the opportunity to expand their musical horizons!

Students spend training in a real-life rehearsal setting with Mark Wood and his talented team of musicians, developing skills such as performance technique and improvisation while enjoying the excitement of merging classical music with modern rock-and-roll!
